Who will win Best in National Costume award for Puteri Indonesia 2020?

Puteri Indonesia 2020, the 24th edition of Puteri Indonesia, is all set to host its coronation night on 6th March 2020 at Jakarta Convention Centre in Jakarta, Indonesia where the representatives to Miss Universe 2020, Miss International 2020 and Miss Supranational 2020 will be crowned. Frederika Alexis Cull Puteri Indonesia 2019 will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. Along with her, Jolene Marie Rotinsulu Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2019 and Jesica Fitriana Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata 2019 will also crown their successors.

Since, the grand finale just few hours away from now; the organization along with Mustika Ratu teamed up with Kadin Indonesian Culture-Based Industrial Field and held its official Cultural Based Fashion Show on 29th February 2020 in the Gandaria City Mall, Jakarta. The 39 finalists presented their respective National Costumes. Raden Roro Ayu Maulida Putri from East Java, Angel Virginia Boelan from East Nusa Tenggara and Veronika Tri Mardani from Jambi were adjudged as the finalists for the award.

Raden Roro Ayu Maulida Putri from East Java

Raden Roro Ayu Maulida adorned a costume which was named, ‘The Light of Majapahit’ which describes the Majapahit Kingdom which one of the greatest empires in East Java during ancient times. The gold color on the costume represents the dominance of the accents, buildings, clothing, weapons and accessories in the royal empire. The golden color signifies that the empire of magic is prosperous. The National Costume was designed by Oxa Creativity. The Putri walked on stage with such confidence and royalty that took the entire audience back into the ancient times. She looked beautiful and the little details on the costume looked perfectly designed for the night.

Angel Virginia Boelan from East Nusa Tenggara

Angel adorned a costume which was named “The Spirit Sandelwood Warrior of Sumba” which was inspired by Pasola. Pasola is a traditional war tradition where two groups of horsemen face each other, chasing while throwing wooden javelins at the opponent. The traditional war event is held once a year during the planting season. The Pasola Festival is an important annual event to welcome the new harvest season. It is also believed that there some rituals about the sprinkling of blood which has magical power to fertilize and revive. The significance of sandelwood in the costume is the fact that it is itself a type of native Indonesian race horse that is bred on Sumba Island which symbolizes perseverance. The costume was designed by Eggie Jasmin; one of the most renowned designers in Indonesia who is known for his special touch of Indonesian legacy in the costumes he designs. The diva looked ravishing on stage while walking with such a powerful costume. Her confidence and stage presence were felt by everyone. She looked like a true warrior.

Veronika Tri Mardani from Jambi

Veronika adorned a costume which was named ‘My God or Cindaku’ which was inspired by the mythology story of Cindaku. It was designed by Sanggar Tari Rumah Elok. The mythology of Cindaku states that there is a half-human half-tiger creature that lives on the slopes of Mt. Kerinci. This creature has existed since hundreds of years ago and was given the task to maintain the relationship between humans and tigers that have long been inaccurate and cause bloody conflicts that caused the death of both sides. According to legends, Cindaku is a science of the mind that is believed to be inherited from the ancestors of the kerinci society. It was said that those who could transform into a human's spiritual Tiger are simply those who have pure blood and have a spiritual talent. One must uphold his duty to maintain the survival of these two worlds so as not to fall apart and maintain harmony of life in the world. The diva walked on stage with utmost confidence and determination to let her National Costume talk for itself.

The results of the Best in National Costume and Talent will be announced during the grand finale of Puteri Indonesia 2020, which will be held on 6th March 2020 at Jakarta. Who do you think can win the Best in National Costume?
