Puteri Indonesia Jawa Barat 2022 was held on 16th January 2022 at Holiday Inn Bandung Pasteur where Melanie Berentz was crowned the new queen by the outgoing Puteri Indonesia Jawa Barat 2020 Jeanatasia Kurnia Sari Soebagio.

Melanie Berentz was born in Singapore, with a German-Indonesian heritage. She is 22 years old and is known as one of Indonesia's young rising artists. Melanie began to enter the Indonesian film industry since 2018 but her name began to skyrocket when she played Tina Cempaka in the film Rumput Tetangga which aired in 2019. Last year, Melanie also stole the attention when she was lined up as a player in the film 4 Ex as Airin.

The stunning beauty is also an entrepreneur and owns the Melbe Group company and also works as a social activist with the Generasi Muda Peduli charity organization, working for underprivileged young generation and to build the nation towards an advanced Indonesia.

At the finale, Top 3 also included Farhana Nariswari and Yulinar Fitriani who were adjudged first and second runners-up respectively while Top 5 also included Anggi Rosdiani and Thia. Anggi Rosdiani was also awarded Puteri Indonesia Favorit Jawa Barat 2022. Also present at the finale was Puteri Indonesia 2020 Ayu Maulida who gave all the moral support to the delegates.

Melanie Berentz will now represent Jawa Barat at Puteri Indonesia 2022. If she wins, she will get the opportunity to represent Indonesia at Miss Universe 2022. Congratulations to the newly crowned queen.
