Puteri Indonesia 2018, one of the biggest national pageants of Asia is accepting registrations now. The girls who are interested in participating in the pageant can fill the registration form till 26th January 2018 which is the deadline.

Puteri Indonesia is a beauty contest held since 1992 by Yayasan Puteri Indonesia, chaired by Mooryati Soedibyo and sponsored by cosmetics company Mustika Ratu. The winner of Puteri Indonesia generally represents Indonesia in Miss Universe pageant.

The winner also becomes the ambassador of Indonesia on international platforms and the face of Indonesian export commodities, tourism and Indonesian culture.

The main requirements that an applicant should fulfil are –

·       Indonesian citizen who is 18-25 years of age, unmarried, female students/ workers with a minimum height of 168 cm.

·       Participants must be domiciles or comes from the region they represent.

·       Having general knowledge and broad knowledge about tourism and culture of Indonesia.

·       Looks attractive/ beautiful, should be smart, and have a good personality.

·       Being able to communicate in a foreign language will add value.

·       Preferably with special skills/ achievements in any field (e.g. music, dance, drag, leadership, language, etc.).

The assessment parameters used in the selection of Puteri Indonesia pageant are 3Bs, namely:

• Brain - Intelligence
• Beauty - Attractive appearance
• Behavior – Behave

In addition, communication skills, rational thinking, having the extensive general knowledge and having a high social awareness and insightful tourism are added advantages in the competition.

Last year Bunga Jelitha Ibrani was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2017 (Miss Universe Indonesia 2017) and she will now crown her successor at the grand finale night of Puteri Indonesia 2018.
