Salett Miguel crowned Miss Angola 2019

Salett Natalia Martins Miguel, representative of province of Cuanza Sul, was crowned Miss Angola 2019 at the conclusion of the finale of the pageant held on 19th October 2019, and will represent Angola in Miss Universe 2019. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Angola 2018 Ana Liliana Avião.

Salett, who is 20 years of age, emerged the winner defeating seventeen other candidates competing for the crown. In a press conference held after her crowing, Sallet thanked her family support and promised to work towards the fight of fatherhood denial, taking into account that it is one of the aspects that contributes for the citizen’s loss of civic and patriotic values.

Paula Mateus Ngança representing Benguela was adjudged the first runner-up, and Nilda Songo representing Malanje was declared the second runner-up. Nilda also won the special award for Miss Congeniality. Other special award winners were Dádiva Vicente (Miss Photogenic) and Ludmilla Solange Pelivavaly (Best Traditional Costume).

Miss Angola 2019 finale was a night of glamor and entertainment, in which the central theme was entrepreneurship, and witnessed the eighteen beauties sashaying the stage in gorgeous long gowns. It was the 23rd edition of Miss Angola beauty pageant.

Angola has won the title of Miss Universe once when Leila Lopes of Benguela was crowned Miss Universe 2011 at the finale of the pageant held in Brazil. Do you think with Angola can have another shot at the title this year?
