On 30th January 2017, a new Miss Universe beauty will be crowned who will take ahead the duties and responsibilities of the pageant. A total of 86 contestants are vying for the crown this year, and all of them are extremely competitive. So, this year is going to be a really difficult job for the judges to find the rightful winner.
With just two days left for the gala finale, the host for the gala, Steve Harvey has made his arrival. Steve Harvey arrived in Manila early Saturday ahead of the coronation day. Steve Harvey played host to the last year’s Miss Universe as well and he really made it a finale to remember. The widely unpopular crowning fiasco that happened last year is still one of the most popular controversies. However, Harvey apologised for the gaffe and also didn’t shy away from taking the responsibility for the entire thing.
It’s been more than a year now since the crowning debacle, and Harvey has been appointed to host this year’s finale as well. Harvey reportedly told the Miss Universe organization that he wanted to personally apologize to Filipinos after making a hash of the announcement, hence his decision to accept the hosting stint anew.
The reigning queen, Pia Wurtzbach said that she has long forgiven Harvey for his mistake and is happy that he will be hosting the finale. Posting on Instagram a photo with Harvey during the infamous moment, she wrote: "Let's do it again and change someone else's life." The Colombian candidate this year, Andrea Tovar has also no hard feelings about the moment and was all smiles when was asked what message she has for Harvey. The beauty sheepishly said, "This year, no mistake.”
