Miss Gibraltar 2017 is on its road to the finale and is scheduled to be held on 8th July 2017. The pageant has already selected the delegates, and a total of 9 finalists are vying for the coveted title. Let’s give you an insight to all the contestants and our next finalist is 21 year old Tessa Britto.

Tessa is a support worker by profession, who enjoys being fit. She enjoys being fit and regularly attends the gym and pole fitness class. Tessa also likes to travel a lot and experiencing different cultures around the world. Tessa speaks fluent English and Spanish. It is her ambition to explore her career as a support worker at Dr Giraldi’s Home where she currently works. Her idea of a perfect day is to spend time with her loved ones.

What she loves more about Gibraltar is its lovely Mediterranean weather. Sharing her motive behind entering the pageant, Tessa says, “I enjoy challenging myself and meeting new people, I have entered pageants in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.” She also shared why she wants to be the next Miss Gibraltar, and says, “If I were to win Miss Gibraltar I would be a proud ambassador to my country. I would look forward to the opportunities to travel and represent Gibraltar abroad, and utilize my role as Miss Gibraltar to raise funds for charities that are dear to my heart.”

Miss Gibraltar pageant is produced by Santos Productions for the Ministry of Culture at the Alameda Open Air Theatre. The first ever Miss Gibraltar contest was organised by the Vox Newspaper. Won by Viola Abudarham, the first election of Miss Gibraltar took place at a dance organised at the CFCA hall situated at the southern end of Main Street. One of the shocking facts is that the first Miss Gibraltar was married at the time she won the crown. It was only after the pageant was resumed in 1964, the rules were modified.
