Miss Peru pageant is known for its Peruvian beauties. Moreover, because of their big, charismatic eyes, their dark hair, their sun kissed skin, or can say their sexy salsa moves that make them look hotter. Whatever it may be, the beauty queens of Peru are sure to leave judges speechless as they walk down the stage at the pageant. And adding extra charm to the pageant this year, Miss Universe 1995 Chelsi Smith will join the judging panel of Miss Peru 2016 pageant. The buzz has been confirmed by Jessica Newton, President of Grupo d’Elite, parent company of the Miss Perú organization.
Later on, Chelsi Smith took to social media to expressed her contentment about joining the juries of Miss Peru 2016 - she was quoted as saying; “I am thrilled to be joining an esteemed group of panelists for the crowing of the 2016 MISS PERÚ UNIVERSE. All of the extraordinary Peruvian women competing in this year’s competition will be walking in the footsteps of some of the MISS UNIVERSE® organization’s greatest title holders including one of Perú’s favorite daughters, Gladys Zender.”

Chelsi emerged as a winner of Miss Universe 1995 at the end of the wonderful event held on 12 May 1995 at the Windhoek Country Club Resort in Windhoek, Namibia. She is known for her superb talent in an array of industries such as Acting, Modelling, Singing and of course Pageantry.
Chelsi Smith is also one of the only bi-racial beauty queen to have won three crowns at the pageant world: Miss Texas, Miss USA, and Miss Universe. Chelsi Smith carries an experience which is not easy to gain.
Being born in Redwood City, California as a model, Smith worked for Hawaiian Tropic, Jantzen, Pontiac, Venus Swimwear, and Pure Protein among others.

The gala event of Miss Peru 2016 will be telecast live on Panaméricana TV on Saturday, April 23’ 2016 also showcasing the performances by Lil Silvio and El Vega. The reigning 2015 Miss Perú Universe, Laura Spoya, will pass the crown to her successor, who will represent Perú at Miss Universe 2016 pageant, hoping to get crowned by the reigning Miss Universe, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach from Philippines.
Laura Spoya was crowned Miss Peru 2015 at the end of the mesmerizing gala held on June 2, 2015. She has also represented Peru at Miss Universe 2015, held on December 20’ 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, won by Philippines’s Pia Wurtzbach.
