Miss Universe Myanmar 2019 held its coronation night on 31st May 2019 at Novotel Max Hotel, Yangon where Swe Zin Htet was crowned the new queen as she became the official representative of Myanmar in Miss Universe 2019. At Miss Universe 2019, Swe Zin Htet became the first openly gay woman to compete for the title of Miss Universe. Swe came out to the world few days prior to the beauty pageant as gay openly despite same-sex relationships being criminalized in her home country Myanmar. Not just this, Swe also captured everyone’s attention with her stunning beauty and was definitely a head turner throughout the competition.
