At the age of 23, Giselle Laronde was crowned as the Miss World 1986, and she became the first woman from Trinidad & Tobago to win the crown. Giselle used her prize money of Miss World 1986, to obtain a degree in Sociology and Communications from University of London and later worked as a public relations officer at the Trinidad Hilton. Currently, she works as a public relations manager for Angoustora Bitters.
