The coronation night of Miss America 2020 was held yesterday night, i.e. 19th December 2019 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut where Camille Schrier of Virginia was crowned the new queen. Miss America 2019 Nia Franklin crowned her successor at the end of the event finale. The contestants were evaluated by an accomplished panel of jury including Kelly Rowland, Lauren Ash and Karamo Brown.
Camille Schrier, Miss Virginia 2019, performed with excellence and dedication at the final event. She is 24 years of age and is a PharmD student at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy. She has an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and systems biology from Virginia Tech. The diva gave a chemistry demonstration on hydrogen peroxide during the talent competition.
Camille used the platform of Miss America 2020 to promote drug safety and abuse prevention while also championing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education. She gave an impassioned speech during the Top 3 about how as a doctorate student, she wants to educate the public on the dangers of misusing or abusing prescription medication.

Second Runner-Up – Simone Esters Miss Missouri 2019
Third Runner-Up – Addison Price Miss Oklahoma 2019
Fourth Runner-Up – Jillian Duffy Miss Connecticut 2019
Schrier is no newcomer to the pageant world as she has been competing since she was 14. Despite her years of experience, it was a challenge to come up with a way to show off her passion and talent for science with in the pageant format. Camille will spend the next year as the face of Miss America. Her job will be to bring the values of this organization to the public, while also pitching her social impact initiative throughout the country.

While fifty-one contestants began their journey at the scholarship competition, only fifteen delegates moved forward as the coronation began – Miss Alabama 2019 Tiara Pennington, Miss Colorado 2019 Monica Thompson, Miss California 2019 Eileen Kim, Miss Florida 2019 Michaela McLean, Miss Hawaii 2019 Nicole Holbrook, Miss Kansas 2019 Annika Wooton, Miss New Jersey 2019 Jade Glab, Miss North Carolina 2019 Alexandra Badgett, Miss New York 2019 Lauren Molella, Miss Georgia 2019 Victoria Hill, Miss Missouri 2019 Simone Esters, Miss Oklahoma 2019 Addison Price, Miss Connecticut 2019 Jillian Duffy, Miss Virginia 2019 Camille Schrier and Miss Texas 2019 Chandler Foreman.
As the coronation night moved forward, these fifteen were then reduced to Top 7 which included Victoria Hill Miss Georgia 2019, Simone Esters Miss Missouri 2019, Addison Price Miss Oklahoma 2019, Jillian Duffy Miss Connecticut 2019, Tiara Pennington Miss Alabama 2019, Monica Thompson Miss Colorado 2019 and Camille Schrier Miss Virginia 2019.
These beauties went through a grueling question and answer round as the winner was announced. The finale was hosted by Access Hollywood’s Kit Hoover and Mario Lopez who kept the audience entertained throughout the show.
