Kimberly Castillo Mugged After Surviving a Tragic Car Crash

Kimberly Castillo, Former Miss Dominican Republic, is blessed to be alive after having survived a disastrous car mishap earlier this week. The beauty queen thanked God for saving her life. Kimberly feels blessed that she is able to share her story with only a few scratches on her body. However, Dominican beauty is very disappointed with certain bystanders and cops present at the accident scene on Thursday (April 7’ 2016) afternoon.

The mishap took place around 2:30 p.m, when Castillo was on her way to Santo Domingo for a business meeting.

Kimberly Castillo, Miss Dominican Republic 2014 who represented her country at the Miss Universe 2014 says a red truck changed lanes and impacted Castillo's white vehicle. "He decided to change lanes without paying attention, without putting on his signal, and without a purpose (considering no one was in his lane)," she expressed on Instagram, enlightening that this caused her car to swirl five times on the road before falling on a ditch upside down.

"I almost lost my life because of this animal," she added. After surviving the accident, the beauty queen faced an interview with CDN 37, where the 27-year-old Castillo unveiled the story behind the life threatening accident, describing the moment she tried to unbuckle her seatbelt as the most desperate three seconds of her life.

Struggling through closed glass and making it out alive, the beauty queen shared with the reporters that the consequence was a dreadful experience. "A lot of people came to help me, but instead, they start stealing my stuff," she said, feeling distress that the robbers took her bag that had vital paperwork and samples.

"I was going to Santo Domingo because I had an important meeting," she stated. "The meeting was to finalize the launch of my brand. I had many samples and they robbed everything," she added, pleading those who have the bag to not leak the information earlier.

The beauty queen took her Instagram account to express her disappointment with the Dominican authorities for their lack of service, revealing that one of the officers from the Autoridad Metropolitana de Transporte (AMET) was of no help. "The only thing he did was scream at me and ask for my license," she said, adding that he did not heed about her well being or about the suspect who fled the scene.

Despite her atrocious experience, Castillo said she's thankful for her father-in-law and a man called Ramon, both men helped her throughout the accident.
