Miss Ukraine 2018 held its re-election for a new representative to send to Miss World 2018 yesterday night at a televised competition. Leonila Guz, one of the delegates of Miss Ukraine 2018 who represented Kherson Oblast, was crowned Miss Ukraine 2018 at the show and will now represent Ukraine in Miss World 2018.
Leonila Guz was crowned by Miss Ukraine 2017 Polina Tkach as she went on to reveal the announcement of her crowning in a post, “I am happy and grateful to everyone! I took the crown from Polina Tkach and take up the duties of Miss Ukraine 2018.”
The re-election was scheduled after the formerly crowned Miss Ukraine 2018 Veronika Didusenko was dethroned. She failed to reveal relevant information about her marital status and child while filling application forms. Ever since her dethronement, Veronika has stepped up to speak out against the age-old rules of pageants which do not allow women who have children to participate in the pageants.
Congratulations to Leonila and we hope that she can give a strong competition to the other competitors at the finale of Miss World 2018 which will be held on 8th December 2018 in Sanya, China. Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
