The Miss Universe Colombia organization is currently on the search to appoint a representative to Miss Universe 2022 and the pageant fanatics have been actively suggesting and wishing for potential names for the same. One of the most anticipated names that had been circling around for a while now is of Miss Universe Colombia 2021 runner-up Maria Alejandra Lopez.

Amidst all the anticipation, the diva has come forward to deny the rumours of joining the national pageant this year. She emphasized that “she can’t” join this year as, first, she is turning 28 this year and even if she can still join the pageant she still has a contract as the first runner up and she has to pay in order to terminate the contract.

The stunning Colombian beauty could have been trying her third time at Miss Universe Colombia; she auditioned in 2020 but resigned due to personal reason. In 2021, she re-entered the competition and with her stellar performance, she was adjudged first runner-up.
