Deshauna Barber has been one of the most popular beauty queens we have. She is undoubtedly our favourite because of her dynamic personality and charm she depicted throughout her journey to Miss Universe 2016. Barber passed on her crown to Miss USA 2017, Kara McCullough of the District of Columbia, and posted a heartwarming farewell message on Instagram. She thanked everyone for an amazing year.
“I’m sitting in my dressing room...and it's all setting in that my time [as Miss USA] is coming to an end and this year has been so amazing,” she said.
“I feel so blessed and so honored, and I’m walking out of this just feeling very thankful for a year as Miss USA,” she added.
“This has been wonderful. I am thankful.”
On the other hand, the lovely Iris Mittenaere posted a lovely message for her departing pageant sister, who was her roomie in New York City. “Because sisters are for life, you will always be in my heart," Mittenaere said.
“I love you, Deshauna Barber!” She added.
Both the girls have this lovable relationship and made it evident to everyone through their affection for each other on the social media website. Barber reached the top 9 in the Miss Universe pageant, which was held in Manila on January 30 this year.
