The 67th edition of Miss Venezuela 2020 was held on 24th September 2020 in Caracas, Venezuela in Venevisión Studio 1 where Mariangel Villasmil Arteaga was crowned as the new Miss Universe Venezuela 2020 in the second part of the finale. She will represent Venezuela at Miss Universe 2020 stage. Miss Venezuela 2019 Thalia Olvino crowned her successor at the end of the event finale.
Miss Zulia 2020 Mariangel Villasmil Arteaga is 24-years-old and stands 176 cm tall and a passionate 4th semester psychology student who is creating content in both Spanish and English languages for social media. She describes herself as responsible, punctual, disciplined, thoughtful, creative, sincere, and very organized. She is very excited to represent Venezuela at Miss Universe 2020 stage. She was also a part of our favourites for the crown.
Mariangel stated that she will now dedicate herself towards working as a model, and taking advantage of all the doors that this platform opens for her. She will also take her initiative #RegalaUnaDulceSonrisa to more corners, to support young entrepreneurs. She also aspires to have her own cafe or restaurant with her own dessert brand.
On asking about what motivates her, the diva stated that changes motivate her, daring new things that makes her leave comfort zone because that's when she puts the best version of herself to the test. It motivates her to know that she is doing something she is passionate about. She has mentioned, “I would love to do conferences using my image as a model, to motivate young people to follow their dreams, take advantage of their talents and abilities, do what they are passionate about, not be afraid to undertake and believe in Venezuela. I would also like to give classes to girls and young people, be it catwalk, or some knowledge that I can share.”
Also at the finale, Isbel Parra was crowned as the new Miss International Venezuela 2020 and will represent her country at Miss International 2020. In special awards category Miss Yaracuy 2020 Daniela Montanes was awarded Mejor Diseno 2020 award.
The organization also crowned Alejandra Conde as the new Miss World Venezuela 2020 in the first part of the finale where the audience was able to enjoy the talent tests, the social vocation interviews, the winners of the interactive bands, special awards, and the Top Model parade.
The twenty-two ladies who competed for Miss Venezuela 2020 were Valentina Sánchez, Sabrina Deraneck, Michelle Suárez, Mayra Goyo, Mariangel Villasmil, María Estefanie Colmenares, María Antonieta Silva, Luiseth Materán, Lisandra Chirinos, Laura Zabaleta, Karla Sánchez, Jhosskaren Carrizo, Ismelys Velásquez, Isbel Parra, Haydalic Urbano, Elizabeth Ramos, Elizabeth Gasiba, Daniela Montañés, Daniela Chmatil, Claudia Bardi, Camile Ramírez, Betzabeth Hernández, Ana Karina Pereira and Alejandra Conde.
