Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica crowned Miss World 2019

Miss World 2019, the 69th edition of Miss World, held its coronation night tonight at the Excel London, United Kingdom where Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica was crowned the new queen by her predecessor Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce de Leon. Jamaica took home the fourth Miss World crown, the last being in 1993.

Toni-Ann Singh gave an incredible performance at the international contest, meserising everyone with her talent, compassion and grace. The 23-year old was born in Morant Bay, St. Thomas and is a recent graduate of Florida State University (FSU). She immigrated to the United States 14 years ago. She became the second contestant to advance straight to Top 40 during the fast track events by winning the Talent Competition. At the finale as well, she sung ‘I have Nothing’ enchanting everyone including the jury.

The super confident beauty also answered her question with ease and intelligence as Piers Morgan interviewed her. The stunning and newly crowned Miss World 2019 Toni-Ann Singh’s court included –

First Runner-Up – Ophély Mézino Miss World France 2019

Ophély Mézino is 20-year-old and stands 173 cm tall. She is a chemistry student currently on her first year in industry. Her achievements in the Miss World 2019 also include third runner-up in  Top Model competition and Top 10 in Beauty with a Purpose.

Second Runner-Up – Suman Ratan Singh Rao Miss World India 2019

Suman is 20 years of age and stands 177 cm tall. A student and a model, Suman is close to fulfilling her goal of becoming a qualified chartered accountant. Her achievements at Miss World 2019 also include Top 10 finalists of Beauty with a Purpose, Winner of Head to Head Challenge and Second Runner-Up in Top Model Competition.

The coronation night began with the ‘Dances of the World’ sequence where the contestants showed the culture and dances of their respective countries in their indigenous costumes. Looking absolutely graceful and stunning, these beauties amazed everyone. After that, all the Top 10 finalists of the Beauty with a Purpose award were called on stage and were all given a place in the Top 40 making these beauties smile with glee.

Right after this and a few out of the world performances in between, the top 12 were announced which comprised of Maria Nyamai Wavinya Miss World Kenya 2019, Nyekachi Douglas Miss World Nigeria 2019, Elís Miele Coelho Miss World Brazil 2019, Ashley Alvídrez Estrada Miss World Mexico 2019, Suman Ratan Singh Rao Miss World India 2019, Anushka Shrestha Miss World Nepal 2019, Michelle Marquez Dee Miss World Philippines 2019, Luong Thuy Linh Miss World Vietnam 2019, Toni-Ann Singh Miss World Jamaica 2019, Ophély Mézino Miss World France 2019, Alina Sanko Miss World Russia 2019 and Tajiya Eikura Sahay Miss World Cook Islands 2019.

With the Top 12 being chosen by the accomplished panel of jury, only five moved forward to the last leg of the competition which included Nyekachi Douglas Miss World Nigeria 2019, Elís Miele Coelho Miss World Brazil 2019, Suman Ratan Singh Rao Miss World India 2019, Toni-Ann Singh Miss World Jamaica 2019 and Ophély Mézino Miss World France 2019. Miss World 2019 was yet another successful edition with stunning performances from each and every delegate from round the world. Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce de Leon big goodbye to her wonderful reign and crown as she crowned her successor.
