Melissa Aguirre to represent Ecuador in Miss World 2020?

23 Apr 2020 | Priya Bhardwaj

CNB Ecuador Organization is soon going to appoint the representative to Miss World 2020 from the three remaining finalists from the five stunning ladies. The organization has already appointed the representatives to Miss Supranational 2020 and Miss Grand International 2020. In our opinion, Melissa Aguirre is the ideal delegate to represent Ecuador with sincerity and hard work at Miss World 2020.

Representing Zaruma, the 26-year-old Melissa has a Journalist degree and a Master in Marketing and Political Communication. She is a fluent speaker of English and Spanish and seems prepared to give this opportunity a real chance. Since she was little, she was interested in social work and clowned at two Quito Hospitals in the children's area. She has also practiced rhythmic gymnastics and dance.

Not new to the pageantry, Melissa competed in the Reina de Quito in 2016. About her experience, she quotes, “I am convinced that achieving awareness in people would prevent many accidents with victims every day. I consider that being part of Miss World is an incredible opportunity to demonstrate that beauty must be comprehensive. That the objectives and goals that we set ourselves are they can fulfill if we are constant and disciplined. Women can achieve everything we set out to do and help many vulnerable sectors of society if we set ourselves the goal of working for the common good.”

Melissa was a TV presenter for a children's channel. She has a thesis and studies already done on HIV in the country and would like to work with this vulnerable group that has always been discriminated against. She also wants to achieve a very strong campaign for the prevention of traffic accidents nationwide as an advocacy.

Miss World Ecuador 2019 María Auxiliadora Idrovo represented her country in Miss World 2019 but unfortunately remained unplaced. Her #DonaTuBici social project was filmed and worked in the Pastaza province and managed to be among the Top 30 best representatives.
