Miss World 2019, the 69th edition of the Miss World pageant, held on 14th December 14, 2019 at the ExCeL London in London, United Kingdom concluded with Vanessa Ponce of Mexico crowning Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica as the new Miss World. This is Jamaica's fourth Miss World title and a deserving win for the country after a gap of 26 years!

Suman Rao Miss World India 2019 gave a stellar performance in the finale and ended up being placed the second runner up. The diva proved her worth by giving best performances in all fast track events and the finale, and with her beauty and confidence, she made her way to the top 3. Besides securing the second runner up placement in the competition, she also was one of the ten head to head challenge winners, top 10 in Beauty with a Purpose, and second runner-up in Top Model. Being the highest placed Asian beauty, she also won the title of Miss World Asia 2019. In our view, she also had the best response in question and answer round, and it looked as if she was on her way to being crowned tonight.

Suman Rao is 20 years of age and hails from Rajasthan. Her father, Ratan Singh Rao, is a jeweller, while her mother Sushila Kunwar Rao is a homemaker. She did her schooling at Mahatma School of Academics and Sports in Navi Mumbai and is pursuing accountancy course from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She is also a trained Kathak (Indian classical dance form) dancer.

Miss World India 2019 Suman Rao

India has been performing really well in the Miss World international beauty pageant as it always sends great competitors and is one of the two dominating countries in the pageant, other being Venezuela. Both India and Venezuela have won so far six Miss World titles each.

India’s success story at Miss World started with Reita Faria winning the first Miss World title for her country in 1966. The next title for India came after a gap of 28 years, when Aishwarya Rai was crowned Miss World 1994, and is now a famous celebrity in India. What followed was a series of wins for India at Miss World - Diana Hayden Miss World 1997, Yukta Mookhey Miss World 1999 and Priyanka Chopra Miss World 2000. Priyanka is now not only a famous Indian movie actress and model, but also a known name in American film and television industry and internationally. The sixth win for India came two years back when Manushi Chillar was crowned Miss World 2017.

Suman Rao, this year, again made her best efforts to win the Miss World 2019 pageant, and did come very close to winning the title. Had she managed to win the title, India would have made history by becoming the country with the most Miss World winners, as this would have been the seventh title for India. Nevertheless, with Miss India organization producing such confident, talented and beautiful candidates every year, achieving this feat may not be too far for India!
