At the grand finale of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2018, Sharifa Areef was declared the winner and she then won the title of Miss Asia Pacific Philippines 2018. She is now representing Philippines in Miss Asia Pacific International 2018. Sharifa has already won the titles of Darling of the Press at the Press Presentation and Best Evening Gown in Miss Asia Pacific International 2018. She also was the first runner-up in the swimsuit competition and the second runner-up in the National Costume Competition in the event.
Sharifa was crowned by Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017 Ilene Astrid de Vera and defeated 49 other contestants to become the new queen. Since Ilene was one of the Top 5 finalists of Miss Asia Pacific International 2017, the pressure is really high for Sharifa as she will have to do better than her predecessor, if not better.
