SushmitaSen of India won the 43rd Miss Universe beauty pageant on 21st May 1994at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City, Manila Philippines. She was crowned by Dayanara Torres from amongst 77 other contestants. The beauty queen now works as a Bollywood actress and has attained appreciation for many roles, especially for films like Sirf Tum (1999),Biwi No.1 (1999), and many female oriented roles that she has played. Sushmita became a single mother at an age of 25 when she adopted a girl in 2000. She adopted another baby girl in 2010.
