In 2017, we saw many national Miss World pageant winners dethroned and/ or replaced for several reasons, and some replacements were marred with controversies too. Ten countries have gone through an ordeal of replacing their Miss World finalists which are Bangladesh, British Virgin Islands, Cameroon, Cayman Islands, France, Greece, Iraq, Guatemala, South Africa and Turkey. Some countries dethroned their representatives because of allegations of 'being married', 'indiscipline' or 'the minimum age requirement' reasons, and some were replacements due to 'conflicting schedules' for Miss World 2017 and Miss Universe 2017.
