The coronation night of Miss Universe Malaysia 2022 was held on Friday, 7th October 2022 at the M Resort & Hotel in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur where Cheam Wei Yeng (Lesley) was crowned the new queen as she became the official representative of Malaysia at Miss Universe 2022. She succeeds Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 Francisca Luhong James.
Lesley Cheam is 26 years of age who hails from Selangor. She is a pharmaceutical and health science graduate and an assistant manager and a multilingual host. Lesley wants to use her pageant platform to raise awareness on mental health issues. The newly crowned Miss Universe Malaysia also bagged the Miss Radiant Confidence and Miss Schwarzkopf Most Beautiful Hair awards.
