Mathilde Grondin was crowned as Miss Earth Reunion Island 2021 on 5 October, 2021 at FestiYacht de Bourbon as she succeeded former queen Cloe Bienvenu Miss Earth Reunion Island 2020.
Mathilde hails from Saint-Joseph and loves to immerse herself in creative work. She enjoys painting and letting her imagination run wild on the canvas. Her advocacy is to focus on education for all, especially those with the least resources. She also mentioned, “I want to use my voice and my status to show that inequalities are growing because of climate change and that we cannot let that happen. I also want to make the world aware of the importance of protecting our living beings and preserving our communion with nature and our environment.”
