2014 was the year which saw the fulfilled dreams of the countries who were vying for their second win in different pageants. While Paulina Vega became the second Colombian to wear the coveted Miss Universe crown, Jamie Herrell brought laurels to Philippines by becoming the second Filipino Miss Earth. Analogously, Valerie Hernandez was the second Puerto Rican Miss International. Also, after Helen Morgan’s resignation, Anneline Kriel was crowned as Miss World, hence Rolene Strauss becomes the second South African to win Miss World technically at the first attempt.
