07 Nov 2022 | Priya Bhardwaj

The national costume competition of Miss Earth 2022 was held on 5th November 2022 where the delegates showed the rich culture and tradition as interpreted by the most creative fashion designers of the countries. A virtual tour on various ecotourism destinations all over the world was also showcased.

While all the delegates looked stunning in their traditional costumes, here are our favourites from the national costume competition of Miss Earth 2022 (in no particular order) –

Oriana Pablos representing Venezuela

Oriana Pablos represented the guardian of the Venezuelan “ocelot” cunaguaro, thus giving life to a warrior willing to protect this species from the indiscriminate house and from imminent extinction. The Guardian of the Venezuelan Cunaguaro raises awareness regarding the protection of fauna and the spaces where this animal breed thrives in Venezuela.

Brielle Simmons representing USA

Brielle Simmons’ outfit was created by Pixton Design Group of Charlotte, North Carolina. The bald eagle is the national bird of the United States of America and appears on its seal. In the late 20th century, the beautiful bird was on the brink of extinction in the contiguous United States. The fierce beauty and proud independence of this great bird aptly symbolizes the strength and freedom of America.

Sofia Martinoli representing Argentina

Sofia Martinoli’s costume was named ‘Guardian of the Jungle’. An uncontrollable explosion of magic and splendor that scatters everywhere semi-precious stones from the Wanda deposits that adorn the red land characteristic of the land without evil, and that contrast with a deep emerald green like the thickness of its jungle, already its passage, majestic as the Falls, leaves behind a trail of foaming water as large as its name in Guarani, Iguazu.

Nieves Marcano representing Dominican Republic

Nieves Marcano’s costume is a a puppet, which makes a social call and invites us to learn about the Rights of Children, as it is a responsibility that as a country will help us reduce violation in any of its nuances. It is important to reflect on the application of children's rights, especially when statistics show that thousands of our children do not attend school and spend their days on the country's main roads doing jobs that are inappropriate for their age.
