Miss Universe 2016 pageant is on the verge of coming to a conclusion, and on 30th January 2017, Pia Wurtzbach will pass on her crown to her successor.

Pia recently talked about her desired successor and said that she hopes that the new queen will also be hard-working. “What we are looking for here is someone who can handle the responsibility because it's a job. She's not just a beauty queen who will be crowned and who will wave to fans. It's a job,” she added. Pia said that being a Miss Universe is not a joke, as the responsibilities begin from the very first day.

Pia further added, “The people only focus on the crowning moment. They think it's just about being crowned, being applauded, and then the show's over. What they don't know is the next day, work goes on for an entire year, without rest. I took on the responsibility. I never complained. I never missed a day of work. I would hate it if that legacy doesn't continue on."

Miss Universe Organisation head Paula Shugart earlier said that she will miss Wurtzbach and that she will cry once her reign is over. But, Pia said that passing on the crown has become a lot more easier for her as the MUO has appointed her to be the ambassador for MU and the beauty will keep on working with the organisation, even after her reign.

Pia Wurtzbach has managed to shine bright throughout her reign and the beauty queen is continuing to shine even now. The preliminary Competition saw the delegates of 2016 dazzle throughout the event, but Pia Wurtzbach still managed to steal some amount of limelight with her wit and charm.

Be it Pia’s grand entry donning a terno inspired sleeved evening gown in golden beige, or nailing the Prelims with her exceptional hosting, the beauty was the focus of the night. During the preliminary competition, footage of one of Pia's first trip home to the Philippines after being crowned Miss Universe was shown onscreen. Pia revealed that she was nervous at that time because she wanted to be at her best for the Filipinos.

Her wit and charm and her presence of mind, have always been her strongest points and the Filipina had time and again proved why she is one of the most amazing Miss Universe winners. Even on the eve of Preliminary Competition, when Philippine Airlines presented Pia with a model plane as a token of their appreciation. Pia joked in response, "This is the model of the real airplane I'm gonna get, right?" "The real one's outside," Pia's co-host Derek replied. Pia said with a smile, "I'm only kidding!"

We are really going to miss Pia Wurtzbach being Miss Universe. But, we also can’t wait to find out who will be the new queen. What do you think? Let us know in the comment section below...
