The 65th edition of the Miss Universe pageant has been garnering so much popularity, and the reasons are many. First of all, it is happening in the country that is mad about pageants; secondly the contestants this year are extremely competitive, and thirdly because of Miss Universe 2015 second runner-up Olivia Jordan and Miss Universe 2014 first runner-up Nia Sanchez.
These two former beauty queens are updating the fans up close stories and all the backstage drama from the Miss Universe 2016 pre-pageant events. “We’re just so excited to post updates about the pageant on our Facebook Live, Instagram and other social media accounts,” said Olivia Jordan. Nia Sanchez said, “We will make sure you get glimpses and behind-the-scenes as we plan to go to the rehearsals and see the girls.”
According to the two divas, the contestants this year have come with an amazing energy and are showcasing a new level of competitiveness. They credit their dedication to the reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach. “They are so fierce. Maybe it’s because Pia is like that and she has definitely raised the bar for the next winner,” said Sanchez.
Talking about her bond with Pia, Jordan said that the reason she and Pia connected so much with each other was because they were one of the older girls in their batch, and both of them knew how it felt to lose in pageants. Jordan added, “It has been a joy to watch Pia during her reign. She has inspired me so much. I have been lucky to know her because she is so inspirational and kind and she has been an incredible Miss Universe. The next one will have big shoes to fill! It’s nice to come back year later and just cheer for Pia.”
The two girls, Jordan and Sanchez, are having a gala time in the Philippines, as the duo recently dropped by the Smart Tower where they sampled Filipino food and enjoyed Jollibee’s Chickenjoy.
