Jane Teoh was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 on 11th January 2018. The grand gala came to a perfect ending with the gorgeous 20-year old taking the crown home to her city, Penang. Jane can be considered among the top runners amongst the delegates of Miss Universe 2018 that have been announced so far.
An Accounting & Finance student and a part-time model, Jane won a local modelling search last year where she had the opportunity to represent Malaysia in the international finals, and received a top 10 placing. Despite not being confident of speaking in front of crowds, Jane found the courage to step out of her comfort zone and take on new challenges. She would like to become a change agent, and inspire those around her. It is her wish to travel around the world and get involved in volunteer work, specifically with youths and her peers to address current social issues that they may face.

It is also quite evident that the gorgeous features that the lady is adorned with are only giving her an edge for her goal. She also has one of the Top 3 Offical Photoshoots in the 1st trimester of 2018.
Teoh has projected a strong independent image since she was just a finalist for Miss Universe Malaysia 2018. Right after she was crowned, Jane told a section of the media, her plans with the recent fame. She said, “Now that I’m in the public eye, I realise that I’ll have the ‘strength’ to highlight important issues to do with society. I’m passionate about helping the underprivileged, for example.”
Currently, Teoh is busy prepping herself to represent her nation at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant later this year. She is deferring her studies for a year as well. This includes a scholarship with Help University, received as part of the prize for clinching the title of Miss Universe Malaysia 2018.

The only controversy, indeed, cyber bullying incident that Teoh had to face was after she was crowned. Netizens labeled Teoh as too boring to be a beauty queen. The other three contestants that were in the Top 4 along with Jane Teoh, were crowd favourites, in a way.
Teoh even answered this incident in a poised manner. She said, “People might think I’m arrogant but I’m quite cheerful and quirky in my own way. Before this, I didn’t understand the importance of audience engagement. I need my fans to get to know me better. I need to change perceptions of my haters, turn them into my supporters. I have a voice now, I have followers and I’ll use it for a good cause.”
