Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray has officially left for Bangkok today as she officially begins her journey in Miss Universe 2018. Just hours before she left for the official venue of Miss Universe 2018, Gray dedicated her stint in the prestigious beauty contest to her beautiful country, Philippines.

She took to her official social media to announce her departure in a post, “Off to Thailand to represent my beautiful country the Philippines in Miss Universe. Philippines, mahal kita. I hope to make you proud.”

She also shared a sweet message for her parents as she thanked them for nurturing her into the woman that she is today. She thanked them for always lifting her up and guiding her always. Her heartwarming message for her country and her parents definitely show how dedicated she is.

Eyeing the title for Philippines for the fourth time after Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach who has pretty big shoes to fill, Catriona is so far one of the most deserving candidates for the crown. As the official venue, this will be the third time that Thailand will host the prestigious pageant. It hosted the pageant in 1992 and 2005.

Growing up in Australia, she developed a deep appreciation for nature and an active and healthy lifestyle. The Asian beauty, thus, has a deep appreciation for different cultures and traditions which will again help her in keeping a strong foothold in the competition. Catriona is also into sketching, painting, travel, writing, photography, music, and cooking.

As she landed in Bangkok minutes ago, she received a warm welcome at the airports by her supporters. She posted, “Mabuhay! Had the warmest welcome from supporters at the airport in Bangkok! Thank you so much for everyone who came out to show me their love today! We're in Thailand!”
