Born on 3rd October 1964, Sarah was 19 years old when she represented Britain in Miss World 1983. Sarah’s victory marked the fifth time when United Kingdom won the Miss World crown. Her performance in the competition was highly coveted and her victory did not please the other compatriots as they thought she wasn’t competent enough to win the crown and as a result, many participants didn’t even join the ball in honor of the Miss World’s coronation. Sarah proved herself worthy of the crown throughout the competition and even during her reigning period when she worked for various humanitarian causes.
