The year 2000 marked the global year for India as the country’s divas flaunted at the international stages of Miss Universe Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific bringing home the crowns with pride and honor. Global icon Priyanka Chopra commenced her journey with vying for the crown of Miss India 2000 at 17 years of age and finished as the first runner up to Miss Universe 2000 Lara Dutta. Priyanka went on to represent India in Miss World 2000 when she was 18 years old and won the crown and the title of Miss World 2000. From being the UNICEF Goodwill ambassador to giving away a large portion of her earnings, Priyanka has served for several humanitarian causes since she was crowned as Miss World 1994. The beauty, in 2019, teamed up with the United Nations Children's Fund and the Crocs Company to donate 50,000 pairs of shoes to deserving school children in the Central American country, Belize. Priyanka tied a knot with the popular American singer and actor Nick Jonas in 2018, after the two dated each other for six months.
