Miss Universe 2020, 69th edition of Miss Universe, was held on 16th May 2021 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States. Seventy four delegates from all over the world competed for the crown and Andrea Meza of Mexico was crowned the new queen at the end of the event finale by outgoing Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi.

The 26-year-old Andrea holds multiple titles in her career in pageantry but this surely is her biggest win till now. Previously, she had been crowned Miss Mexico 2017 as she represented her country at Miss World 2017 and won the first runner-up position. Her long list of achievements also includes working as an activist who focuses on women's rights and inclusion. Currently, she is working closely with the Municipal Institute for Women, which aims to end gender violence.

Mexico won its first Miss Universe crown 30 years ago when now National Director of Mexicana Universal Lupita Jones was crowned Miss Universe 1991. The second Miss Universe crown came to Mexico 11 years ago when Ximena Navarrete was crowned Miss Universe 2010 on 23rd August 2010.
