She is a Peruvian actress, dancer, model, teacher and beauty queen. 107 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown marking at that time, the biggest turnout in the pageants 54 year history. That record was held until Miss World 2008 where 109 nations send representatives. “I’m very surprised but I’m also very happy,” Mantilla Garcia told reporters right after her win. She said she wanted to do charitable work as Miss World and “help all the people that I can.”
