Miss World 2011’s end saw the crowning of the then 22-year-old Ivian Sarcos from Venezuela. She was crowned by the outgoing Miss World 2010, Alexandria Mills of United States of America. Being an orphan at the age of eight, Sarcos was raised by the nuns in a convent in Cojedes. She had intended to become a nun, but she found a new passion in the world of fashion and started her career as a model.
