Jharana Barjracharya is more popular as Miss Nepal 1997 than the actual title of Miss World Nepal 1997. A question has often been raised that if Neelima Gurun won the Miss Nepal title then why is Jharana Bajracharya called Miss Nepal 1997. Well, the fact is that there were two contests organised separately in 1997. At first Kathmandu Jaycees organised the pageant to select Miss Nepal, later that same year Hidden Treasure went on their own to organise Miss World Nepal. Jharana is the youngest Miss World Nepal till date, and also the first one. Jharana was 16 when she got crowned, and after winning the title she went on to rule the film industry of Nepal. She is also popular as a renowned model in Nepal.
