Rabiya Mateo was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2020 on 25th October 2020 and will now represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020. Rabiya succeeds Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados.
Rabiya hails from Iloilo and is a staunch advocate of education. “As an educator, I want people to see education the way that I see it – a golden ticket to success. Knowledge is and always will be power, wherever you are, whoever you’re with. If you are knowledgeable you will excel and become successful”, Rabiya said at the beginning of the competition. Rabiya attended Iloilo Doctors' College as Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and graduated cum laude. Currently, Mateo is working in SRG Manila Review Center as a lecturer and review coordinator.
