Katherine Ruth was crowned Miss International 1978 during the conclusion of the finale held on 10th November 1978 in Tokyo, Japan. She was just 18 years of age when she won the international title and defeated 42 other contestants from all over the world. Katherine is the second delegate from the United States to win the title for her nation. The first one being Miss International 1974 Brucene Smith.
