Sophie Perin from France was crowned Miss International 1976 during its grand finale that was held on 2nd June 1976 in Tokyo, Japan. She was only 19 years of age when she won the crown and defeated 44 other contestants from all over the world for the title. Sophie participated in both Miss World and Miss Universe in the year 1975 but unfortunately remained unplaced In both the pageants. But later on she tried her hand in Miss International 1976 and emerged as the winner.
