Venus Raj from the Philippines represented her country in Miss Universe 2010 and with her talent managed to secure a position as the 4th runner-up. Raj was first dethroned and then later she was reinstated as Miss Universe Philippines 2010 as she contested claim to Filipino citizenship, which she later overcame.
Venus obtained her bachelor's degree in communication arts, major in journalism, from Bicol University in Legazpi City, with Latin honours (cum laude). Besides her academics, she is a Filipino actress and television personality. And In 2017, Raj completed her master's degree in community development from the University of the Philippines Diliman. Prior to this pageant, she is also left her mark as the 4th runner-up in Miss Earth 2008 that took place at Crowne Plaza Galleria, Manila.
