Janine Mari Tugonon is a Filipino who represented her country in Miss Universe 2012 and secured the position of the 1st runner-up in the finale that held on 19th December 2012 at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, United States.
Tugonon finished her Pharmacy degree at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila and became a Licensed Pharmacist in June 2010. Tugonon also attended the Lisa Macuja School of Ballet Manila as a ballet protégé while attending university and was titled Miss Pharmacy and Miss Thomasian Personality 2010 at the university. On the other side of her academics, she is a fashion model and television presenter. Earlier she participated in Binibining Pilipinas 2011 pageant where she as adjudged 1st runner-up and then later in 2012 she again took part in Binibining Pilipinas 2012, where she won the title and gained the right to represent her country in Miss Universe 2012 where she landed up being the 1st runner-up.
