Emmy A Pena was crowned Miss World Dominican Republic 2021 4th September 2021 at the Barceló Grand Resort in Punta Cana. She succeeded Miss Mundo Dominicana 2019 Alba Marie Blair Rodríguez for the title.
Hailing from Duarte, Emmy is a 24-year-old professional model signed with EMG Models in New York, United States. She was also a part of the Spanish film “Donde Quiera Que Vayas” (Wherever You Go), which was filmed in New York and released in June 2016. She holds a degree in Journalism and Marketing and enjoys cooking, dancing, singing, volleyball and hiking.
Apart from winning the national crown, Emmy also won the title of Top Model. Having a professional modelling experience, she has walked various fashion shows including Bronx and Banco S/S 20 Show, Flying Solo S/S 20 Show, Pyer Moss S/S 20 Show, RaisaVanessa S/S 20 Show, Maki Oh S/S 20 Show, Aliette S/S 20 Show, Gaucho Buenos Aires Spring 2020, Sergio Hudson F/W 20 Show, Ricardo Seco F/W 20 Show and Sebastian Grey F/W 20 Show.
Talking about her purpose the queen says, “My purpose is that we lovingly celebrate the diversity of our people, especially those with Down syndrome; that we educate ourselves to destroy prejudices and myths that only have life in our minds. That is the true disease and condition that limits us. From them I learned that true happiness and the meaning of life is in the things that we think are insignificant: a genuine smile, a sincere look and a heart that has no measures to love.”
