Year 2019 boasted of marvellous and prodigious performances by stunning beauties from all over the world as they took on their own unique paths to represent their respective countries at the major international pageants. From the two coveted major international beauty pageants of Miss World and Miss Universe to other major pageants such as Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Grand International and Miss Supranational, this year was a hit and miss for a few while a whole pudding for others.
Keeping in mind these six major international beauty pageants, we have prepared our list of Top 10 countries which performed with excellence and won placements in these major pageants. Now, these necessarily are not just the positions of the winner and the runners-up but also consist of the placement of Top 5 or Top 8 or Top10 or Top12 depending on the pageant. We have assigned a weight to each international pageant basis their ranks and a score to each placement, and have identified the top performing countries basis the weighted average score of placements in such international pageants.
So, without further ado, here are the Top performing countries of 2019 –
RANK #10 - VENEZUELA
On number 10 is Venezuela, one of the dominating countries at the major international pageants for a long time. The country first won its placement in Miss Grand International 2019 which was held on 25th October 2019 in Venezuela where Valentina Figuera was crowned the winner of the pageant. The second placement came under Miss Supranational Venezuela 2019 Gabriela De La Cruz who won the placement of 4th runner-up at Miss Supranational 2019 held on 6th December 2019 in Poland. The country did not place in any other beauty pageants but definitely stood strong in these two.
RANK #9 - PERU
Number 9 on our list is Peru which also performed extremely well this year. At Miss Grand International 2019, Camila Escribens Miss Grand Peru 2019 performed with sincerity and won a spot in the Top 10. The country then won a placement in Miss Supranational 2019 where Janick Maceta Miss Supranational Peru 2019 was awarded the title of third runner-up at the coronation night. Not just this, Peru also performed well at Miss Universe 2019 as Kelin Rivera Kroll won a place in the Top 10 with her charm and beauty.
RANK #8 - FRANCE
On number 8 is France who definitely impressed everyone with incredible performances by the delegates. At both Miss World and Miss Universe, France won a strong spot at the finale. At Miss Universe 2019, Maëva Coucke Miss Universe France 2019 represented her country with utmost sincerity and dedication and won a spot in the Top 10. Similarly, France’s Ophely Mezino represented her country in Miss World 2019 and with her stunning performance, she placed as the first runner-up at the end of the event finale. While the country did not win a placement in the other four pageants, these two placements definitely won them the eighth spot on our ranking.
RANK #7 - INDONESIA
Next on number 7 is Indonesia, the first Asian country in the hierarchy. Indonesia has started to perform really well in the international pageants since the last few years. This year too, the country won three placements in the six international pageants. At Miss International 2019, Jolene Marie Rotinsulu gave an outstanding performance at the contest winning a spot in the Top 8. Frederika Alexis Cull Miss Universe Indonesia 2019, a strong favourite for the crown, won a spot in the Top 10 with her stunning beauty and talent while Jesica Fitriana Martasari Miss Supranational Indonesia 2019 was adjudged the second runner-up at Miss Supranational 2019.
RANK #6 - UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
On Number 6 is United States of America, one of the strongest countries in the pageantry. The country won three placements at the international beauty pageants; Regina Gray Miss Supranational USA 2019 was placed in the Top 10 in Miss Supranational 2019, while Miss Universe USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst was placed in the Top 10 in Miss Universe 2019. Also, at Miss Earth 2019, Emanii Davis competed with sincerity and dedication and won a placement as the first runner-up. She was awarded the title of Miss Earth-Air 2019.
RANK #5 - VIETNAM
Next on the list, on number 5, is Vietnam who also made quite an impression at the international beauty pageants this year. The country won four placements out of six this year. Luong Thùy Linh Miss World Vietnam 2019 was a crowd’s favourite this year and won a place in the Top 12. Nguyen Tuong San Miss International Vietnam 2019 made it to Top 8 with her scintillating performance. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau Miss Supranational Vietnam 2019 placed in the Top 10 and also won the Miss Supranational Asia title. Also, in Miss Grand International 2019, Nguyen Hà Kieu Loan placed in the Top 10 by winning Miss Popular Vote.
RANK #4 - COLOMBIA
Coming close to the Top, on number 4, is Colombia which is another strong country in the pageantry. Gabriela Tafur Miss Universe Colombia 2019 became a strong favourite for the crown and with her performance, she placed in the Top 5 at the coronation night. Also, in Miss International 2019, Alejandra Vengoechea represented her country with sincerity and with her performance, she was adjudged the third runner-up at the contest. Yaiselle Tous Miss Supranational Colombia 2019 also gave an incredible performance and placed in the Top 10 at the end of the event finale. Colombia definitely rose high this year with its delegates shining through.
RANK #3 - PUERTO RICO
On third position this year is Puerto Rico which proved its dominance with outstanding performances. The country won a crown as Nellys Pimentel was crowned Miss Earth 2019 as she performed with absolute sincerity and dedication. Madison Anderson Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2019 also shined bright at the Miss Universe 2019 stage and was adjudged the first runner-up to South Africa at the end of the coronation night. Also at Miss Grand International 2019 stage, Hazel Ortíz represented her country with pride and placed in the Top 10.

RANK #2 - MEXICO
Missing the Top position with just a small number, on Number two is Mexico, another powerhouse in the pageantry. María Malo Miss Grand Mexico 2019 and Andrea Isabel Toscano Miss International Mexico 2019 both ended up being the favourites for their respective crowns and just missed a mark by winning the first runner-up positions at Miss Grand International 2019 and Miss International 2019 respectively. Sofía Aragón Miss Universe Mexico 2019 made a strong impression on the judges with her intelligence and eloquence winning the second runner-up position. Ashley Alvídrez Miss World Mexico 2019 was also a strong contender for the crown and ended up being placed in the Top 12 at the coronation night.

RANK #1 - THAILAND
And the gold medal for this year's pageantry performance goes to none other than Asian Powerhouse – Thailand! Thailand made history as the country won not one but two major international pageants this year. Anntonia Porslid of Thailand was crowned Miss Supranational 2019 who made history by becoming the first girl from Thailand to win that crown while Bint Sireethorn Leearamwat was crowned Miss International 2019 who also became the first Thai woman to be crowned with this title. Not just this, Thailand delegates made an international mark this year with their absolute stunning beauty and intelligence. At Miss Grand International 2019, Coco Arahya Spakurk was adjudged the second runner-up position as she impressed everyone with her performance. Also, at Miss Universe 2019, Paweensuda Drouin, a mega favourite for the crown, was placed in the Top 5 with her outstanding performance, and before the final winner was announced, we just thought that Miss Universe crown also belonged to a Thai woman.
Other countries who made it to our Top 20 by performing exceedingly well at this year's international pageants but just did not have enough placements in all the major international pageants to make it to our list of Top 10 are Brazil (#11 with two Top 5 placemnts), Jamaica (#12, by virtue of winning the Miss World 2019 title), Nigeria (#13 with one Top 5 and one Top 10 placement), Czech Republic (#14 with one Top 5 and one Top 10 placement), South Africa (#15, by virtue of winning the Miss Universe 2019 title), Panama (#16 with one Top 5 and one Top 10 placement), Russia (#17 with one Top 10 and one Top 12 placement), Philippines (#18 with one Top 8 and one Top 12 placement), India (#19 with second runner-up at Miss World 2019) and Belarus (#20 by winning Miss Earth Fire 2019 title).
