Gidget Sandoval Herrera from Costa Rica was crowned Miss International 1983 at the finale of the pageant held on 11th October in Osaka, Japan. At an early age of 17, this gorgeous beauty queen went on to defeat 40 other contestants to win the crown. With a whopping height of 168 cm and a face that could charm like no other, Gidget became the second woman from Costa Rica in the history of Miss International to win the title. Prior to this particular pageant, she had also participated in the Miss Pan-American Teenager pageant, where she was adjudged Miss Elegance. It is incredible how someone so young became so successful.
