Hoàng Thị Thùy was appointed Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 in May 2019. Earlier, she participated in Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 and was placed as the first runner-up. She succeeds Miss Universe Vietnam 2018 H’Hen Nie.
Hoang Thuy is one of the oldest contestants with 27 years of age. She was a sophomore majoring in Industrial Design at Hanoi Architectural University before participating in the second season of Vietnam's Next Top Model and pursuing modeling afterwards. In 2016, she started enrolling in fashion design courses at Central Saint Martins in London. Hoang is a brand in herself as she is known in Vietnam for her beauty and elegance. Hoang is the first person people think of whenever Vietnam’s Next Top Model is mentioned.
