Francisca Luhong James was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 on 5th September 2020 and is representing Malaysia at Miss Universe 2020. She succeeded Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 Shweta Sekhon for the title.
She advocates for women empowerment and is also active in doing charity works especially in rural areas of Sarawak. She also believes that its important to not keep trying to impress others all the time but try to make a positive impact so that people can understand each other better. She has also worked with the Global Peace Foundation to gather food for indigenous people of Malaysia. As Miss Universe Malaysia, she started the foundation Beyond Aid to raise money for refugees and underprivileged children. Her advocacy is focused on women’s empowerment and wants to continue to empower young girls to work together to create a positive change in society and create more female youth leaders.
