Nellys Pimentel who represented Puerto Rico was crowned Miss Earth 2019 on 26th October 2019. Nellys is a Psychology student who is pursuing a second course in Marketing, is also the first Puerto Rican to win the title.
Nellys is focused on her advocacy during her reign which focuses on promoting small changes in daily lives to protect the Mother Earth. “Switching to different products that we use, our routines, and also combining them with what the productions have ongoing now which is the hashtag “me and my tree” for this year, which encourages us to plant more because green equals clean, which is a bridge for better environment, better quality for air and water.” With her great initiatives, Nellys surely has come a long way with her reigning responsibilities and trying to create an impact in the world.
