Gudrun Bjarnadóttir from Iceland was crowned Miss International 1963 on 16th August 1963 in Long Island, United States. She was 20 years old when she was crowned the winner and defeated 45 contestants from all over the world. Guðrún was crowned by Miss International 1962 Tania Verstak. In the year 1962, she was crowned Miss Iceland, which qualified her to become the national representative of Iceland in Miss International 1963.
