Constance Catharina Margarethe (Stanny) van Baer from Holland was crowned Miss International 1961 during its finale held on 28th July 1961 in Long Island, United States. She was just 19 years of age when she competed for the crown and won. Catharina was a Dutch model during her prime and defeated 51 other contestants at the coronation night of Miss International 1961. She was crowned by Miss International 1960 Stella Márquez from Colombia.
